After 13 years as a computer analyst in British Columbia, I quit my job, went back to college, and earned a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate. 

In June 2003 I started a one-year contract to teach English at a private language school in Jakarta, Indonesia.  I discovered that I actually enjoyed teaching English.  From July 2004 until July 2007 I taught English in Mexico. I was in a sleepy little resort town called “La Crucecita”, in Bahias de Huatulco.  It was a beautiful place on Oaxaca’s coast with many small quiet beaches. I found this area very relaxing and I really enjoyed living there – but all good things must come to an end.

I'm now back in Victoria, BC, working as a computer analyst again – but I plan to take an early retirement and return to teaching and travel overseas.
